The Reno-Sparks Local Business Co-Op & Green Business Chamber brings together community leaders, independent business owners, government officials and social innovators to build a thriving sustainable local community. We believe the best way to create local jobs and economic recovery is supporting and growing locally owned businesses. We provide the tools and resources to bring this new chamber of commerce model into our community.

Nevada Microenterprise Initiative

Nevada Microenterprise Initiative is a statewide nonprofit providing small business lending to start ups and business expansions for those who can not get traditional loans. The Nevada Women's Business Center provides entrepreneurship classes and one to one coaching to women and minorities wanting to start or grow their business. Nevada Microenterprise Initiative is a part of Valley Economic Development Center (VEDC) in Van Nuys CA.

Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce

The Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce advances the viability of the Carson Valley business community while striving to maintain the inherent character and livability of the Carson Valley. They do this by providing business tools and education, networking opportunities and advocacy for the existing business community and participating in the attraction of desirable new business.

Small Business Majority Voices Support for the Ohio Fairness Act

Small Business Majority offered testimony on the Ohio Fairness Act, which would revise Ohio’s nondiscrimination code to include protections based on sexual orientation and gender identity or expression. The bill will ensure that all of Ohio’s citizens receive equal protections in employment and public accommodations. Implementing nondiscrimination policies improve small businesses' ability to attract and retain the best and brightest employees and help draw in more customers, which is good for business.

Ohio Small Businesses Support Energy Efficiency Measures

In the wake of the Great Recession, small business nationwide and in Ohio are doing all they can to strengthen and grow their businesses. Small business owners are constantly looking for innovative ways to help their businesses run more efficiently. As part of these efforts, recent scientific opinion polling conducted by Small Business Majority shows that Ohio’s entrepreneurs want utilities to offer renewable energy sources that will help them improve their energy intensity and reduce utility costs, and believe the use of renewable energy can have economic benefits for their businesses.

Small business owners nationwide are doing all they can to strengthen their businesses and put the Great Recession’s effects behind them. Now more than ever, it’s critical they have the help of smart employment laws allowing them to attract and retain the best talent. National scientific opinion polling shows the vast majority of small business owners believe we’re long overdue for federal and state policies protecting all workers from discrimination, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
