In communities across the United States, it is the jobs small businesses provide and the consumers they serve that keep our economic recovery moving. However, this recovery is threatened when small businesses are faced with costly and frivolous lawsuits brought on by patent assertion entities—commonly referred to as patent trolls. Small Business Majority's national scientific opinion polling found small firms support patent reform legislation that would help prevent patent trolls from targeting small businesses.

Opinion polling shows Nevada small business owners believe government can play an important role in creating financial incentives that help small businesses take energy efficiency measures. A majority of six in 10 respondents say government investments in clean energy play an important role in creating jobs and boosting the economy, and about the same majority also supports standards to reduce carbon pollution and other emissions even if it means an increase in utility rates.

Now is a better time than ever to help them get back on their feet, and scientific opinion polling reveals small business owners in Nevada believe protecting their region’s natural assets is one way we can enhance the financial success of small businesses and local economies.
