MEDIA ADVISORY FOR THURSDAY, DECEMBER 7: Small Business Majority to Host Entrepreneurship Expo in Springfield

WHAT: Small Business Majority, in partnership with The eFactory and MSU Small Business and Technology Development Center, will host a free resource fair in Springfield for anyone looking to grow or start a business. This come-and-go event will connect attendees with nonprofits, community development financial institutions (CDFIs), government agencies and other organizations focused on serving small businesses. Expo attendees will also be able to:

  • Get a free soft-pull credit check

  • Obtain healthcare enrollment assistance

  • Sign up for free or low-cost assistance from local business-focused organizations

  • Network with business owners

Attendees will also have the opportunity to register for a one-hour workshop presented by MSU Small Business & Technology Development Center from 12:00pm - 1:00pm, designed for those who are considering a new business venture. Program highlights will include:

  • Evaluating a business idea

  • Estimating start-up costs

  • Identifying competitors and customers

  • Discussing the challenges of small business ownership

In addition to Small Business Majority, event exhibitors include The eFactory, Missouri Small Business and Technology Development Centers, 1 Million Cups Springfield, Missouri Procurement Technical Assistance Centers, Justine PETERSEN, Cover Missouri, Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, ROSIE,  Mid-West Family Broadcasting, Management Development Institute, SCORE Southwest Missouri and United States Department of Agriculture.
